bitten by the travel bug
Alienboi sent me a text the other day and was asking if i could go over to chicago to visit on June 4th. i told him that i wasn't sure yet, since i have a dancemeet the week after that and not coming in for work even for just a day before the event would freak out my already stressed out students. i asked him what's up, and he told me that he was getting married.
this didn't completely come as a shock to me, since Jean already mentioned it two days prior. i did give Alienboi the usual congratulatory remarks, and i said i'll see what i can do.
that would account for all the new links related to traveling on the sidebar. i have been thinking of going out of town for quite some time now, and this only resparked that ember. my favorite first choice to go to would be new york and a little upstate of that as well, but i have only been able to get as far as new jersey to visit family of late.
i'm thinking of places to go to for my weeklong summer vacation; without really realizing it, work has become a tad more stressful than this time last year. it's not too bad; i was a newbie bum then so i suppose dancing my butt off would be considered a good thing as compared to me making it flabby by sitting on it all day.
i'd want to go hit the beach since i've missed my tanned skin. problem is, i hate the sand around here. i wouldn't mind going down at least 60 feet again though. i've missed the liberties and risks involved in it. on the extreme side, i'd want to go skydiving because i've never done it, or bungee jumping for the same reason. i'd like to go on a nature trip, sans bugbites and discomforts and still get to rough it but that sounds too unlike reality. i'd like to learn to rollerblade properly, get back to running, tennis, any athletic activity. i'd want to ride a horse and scream those words uttered in one of the Young Guns movies (if you can tell me what it is, you've got my attention) when i attempt to do the same stunt that they did. i'd love to wall/rockclimb again. i'd want to finally get that body i ought to have.
most of all, i'd want to do any or all of these, with mi corazon. it seems time spent with her is never quite enough to satiate me.
