ame ga furimashita

it rained for most of the day today. it's not the heavy downpour that some people associate with this time of the year for this part of the hemisphere; it was mostly just an incessant drizzle. I had thought that it's probably how London is with the rain that they have, but Craig informed me that what we had earlier was the most rain that they had ever experienced in their stay there. it was more like a heavy mist in England most of the time; it always made you think whether an umbrella was necessary or not. that would definitely blow but then again, that'll most proabably explain the bowler hats and black umbrellas that seemed to have always been associated with the image of a stiff upper lipped Brit in their black suits.

oh, don't get me wrong. i love the rain. it's being indoors at work whilst it's wet out that kills me. it was so "bad" this afternoon that the whole studio stayed in for lunch and had pizza delivered.

i just got home from the Rocky Run Tap & Grill over at Columbia since i had dinner with Frost, Leigh, Gabe, Kristi, Craig, and Omar. they've got wonderful buffalo wings and something that they called smashed potatoes -- it was regular mashed potatoes, but sour cream, bacon bits, a dash of melted chedddar and jack cheese was mixed in with it. i'd say that it's a nice place and i wouldn't mind going back there again.

what did freak me out a tad was the voice in the bathroom while i relieved myself. i came in and helped myself to one of the stalls and then i hear a woman's voice. at first i said to myself that that guy using the urinal's going to bust an eardrum if he kept that loud a volume on his headset, but then i realized that even on high, most headsets that i tested wouldn't have such clarity.

i freaked a bit because i was thinking that maybe it was one of those unisex bathrooms. i was thinking that i sort of splashed on the seat and if there was indeed a woman out there in line, she was probably going to be pissed (in more ways than one) due to that, and i could not see tissue paper anywhere.

i finally relaxed when i listened harder to the voices and realized that it was taped male and female voices teaching some language thing. there was no woman, and there was no such line waiting to use the loo.

did i mention that Rocky Run Tap & Grill has their own handcrafted Canadian-style microbrewed beer? i tried the 32 oz. one called Bar Wench Brew. very light and not that filling.

realizing now that it was Canadian, i'm glad that i got out of there with nary a scratch and still speaking "normal" English, eh?

don't mind me. i'm just teasing, eh?

go check them out here.
