Galaxy Quest, remembered

never give up, never surrender

i have completely forgotten this movie, until my dearest sister left me a comment on it. yes, it's a good motto. it transcends a trippy movie to the real world, without much of the slapstick.

i wouldn't mind being able to go to other worlds though. i suppose, there is a possibility of other lifeforms out there. some may just be bacteria, others may be going through their version of the stone ages, others may even be more evolved than us. i mean, it just seems so self-centered of us, the human race, to think that we're the only ones out here.

it's sad, and lonely too.

perhaps, the universe is indeed full of other kinds of life, and they're all watching us grow to our potential. or, avoiding us like the plague for our immaturity. one day soon, perhaps i too, will be able to utter those infamous words that SF wannabes all utter:

Beam me up, Scotty.
There's no intelligent life around here.
