a trip to heaven and hell
i just came home from a place where people looked like they were having seizures. had i been a bit more sober when i was there, i am sure that it'd have been more amusing.
truth be told, i was somewhat buzzing by the time i stepped into this particular club that i must've been looking as ridiculous as the next person.
ah... the 80s. people old enough to remember and participate in it probably avoid retro theme-clubs of this kind like a plague.
i couldn't help it though. the first time the bad hair and atrocious clothing came around, i was too young to appreciate it. this time though, i wasn't going to let such an oppurtunity pass me by.
sans the hair and clothes, of course. that's the thing that i may never truly appreciate.
i did notice that the majority of the crowd seemed to be around my age as well -- too young the first time new wave kicked in but now old enough to be making a reasonable living.
kind of makes you wonder why they'd bother hanging out in a place like this, trying their best to do the awesome dance moves of that bygone era.
is it to mock it?
is it in reverence to a more innocent time?
maybe it's because of the music.
