The World's Playground
now, i dunno how accurate that particular statement is, considering that i just lifted it from some random website. i think it said again after that particular spiel that i read.
anywho....
have i ever told you that i have wonderful students? case in point:
there's this thing called the dance-o-rama or DOR which is coming up this december and there is a minimum number of students required for each instructor. it helps justify the cost the studio is eking out for another warm body. it's going to be fun, consdiering that as compared to the events that we have here locally that only go for at most 2 days, this one goes for 4. that, plus the fact that it's got more studios participating; compare 5 studios to more than 25 at the least.
i want to go.
of course, i can't just tell my students that. regardless of it's redundancy, it's selfish and self-serving. still, it doesn't change the fact.
thankfully, i've got relatively talented students. they listen and they actually do what i ask them to and thus, they're really hauling and kicking major derrière. that being said, i asked them if they were interested in going to DOR. one went home to check on her finances and immediately said yes the following day. the other one?
she asked me if i went last year. i said no. she asked if i did the year before. i said no. she went quiet for a moment, which stretched on like ages, it felt like. finally, with an air of nonchalance, she said:
pack your bags.
