it's because i say so, part un

some people are just so tactless and insipid. i know, that sounds redundant, but believe me, it works.

somebody i know not off, but swears that we were passing acquaintances in college, had somehow found me in one of those friend connection thingamabob websites that i am a member of. since she listed my best bud from the motherland as one of her other connections, i figured, what the hell -- she probably IS an old passing acquaintance.

there were a few things that i've forgotten though: i was relatively quite standoffish back in college, i've always thought of myself as a nerd (but sadly, not the intellectual kind), and people in college annoyed me because most of them were very stupid.

case in point: she asked me what i was doing now, and i told her that i am an exotic dancer. she said something like: oh how nice, ARE YOU GAY?

excuse me? how did we correlate my profession to my sexual orientation? first off, i am NOT gay (though i'm sure that some of my xgf's would jump unto the next bandwagon claiming the truth of this statement, just to sully my immaculate reputation. riiight....) and secondly, why does everybody believe me when i say that i am an exotic dancer, even when it's obvious that i am lying through my teeth? don't get me wrong, i've such respect for those people. i cannot even get up to speak in front of a large crowd, let alone in my skivvies or less?! surely, you jest.

i suppose the world is chockfull of idiots that people would believe just about anything. they say that there's one born every minute and sadly for me, it seems like they all went to the same college that i did. even worse, after years of running, it looks like they've finally caught up.

i guess it's time that i confess and tell them what i truly do. either that, or i ought to learn how to work that pole relentlessly.

what do you think?
