homecoming

i came back home this past sunday, after house and dog sitting for a little over a week. it was quite an experience: i was locked out by the afternoon dog people on the first sunday that i was over, with them locking the deadbolt and i having only the key for the doorknob. i opted to go home that sunday night on the assumption that they'd be back the day after. i came over monday evening and they apparently did NOT. thus, i had no choice but to get a locksmith.

never having to deal with such matters, i would say that it was relatively inexpensive to break into a house that is not my own. normally i wouldn't have minded as much, but still reeling from my cheap-haitus-to-ny-turned-grotesquely-expensive-due-to-my-clunky-car experience, it has made me closer to becoming a pauper than i am normally accustomed to.

to compensate, i made full use of my officemate's generous offer of helping myself to whatever they had in the pantry, kitchen, and everywhere else in the house.

did i mention that i had a disastrous experience with laundry? no? it was idiotic really. i now appreciate the obsessive compulsive behavior that is checking ones pockets before putting them in the laundry.

i left my pen in one of my pockets.

i am now a proud owner of a new line of random-sized black splotches of ink-upon-clothing.

well, at least i still have a little sanity... left.
