two thousand four hundred twenty-two dollars and sixty-two cents
to date, that's the amount that i've invested on the red 1989 Honda Prelude that i drive. that's excluding gasoline, and insurance coverage. and i'm still paying for parts of it.
why so much? well, to begin with, it's an old car. it's literally falling apart. had to have a few things repaired, new wheels, regular service, etcetera, etcetera.
then, the starter just crapped out on me wednesday night so that's where part of that luxurious amount has gone to. thankfully, some of my mates from work were still in the parking lot so i was able to hitch a ride home.
granted, it was originally my grandfather's car. being a hand me down and all, it's expected that things have fallen into disrepair. nonetheless, one cannot help but feel a hole burning in one's pocket. that being the case, i'm slowly accepting it as being my car. i've put a relatively large amount on it anyway.
next up, i'll probably have a paint job, new reams, and a kick-ass sound system. all in due time, mind you. heck, it's lasted this long, maybe i can make it work a few more decades.
