let's talk new year's resolutions. i'm sure that most of us out there have them; it's a wonderful tool to refocus our energies on things that we want to do. sadly, it's now mostly used as just an excuse not to follow through on these promises. that being said, i am going to make some of my own, and let's see how far or how long i can keep them.
back in the gym
when i was younger, i envisioned myself on having a model physique by the time i reach a certain age. guess what? that number has come and gone, and i'm still pudgy in places that would be best left unmentioned.
so, what do i have planned for this particular promise? first, i have to shed the excess baggage. i'm doing that by going to the gym. you're probably thinking: aren't you dancing already? yes, that is indeed my profession and i suppose it helps keep my weight at a certain range, but it's not doing anything in terms of definition. so, i'm back on the ratwheel as well as other things that'll probably leave me hurting for a time.
writing more
not only in terms of a-b-c's, but quality in bulk. how so? well, i've been writing things for probably over a decade now, and i have yet to claim to be a writer extraordinaire. i need to find some place to send my written works to, and see if they will pick it up. next, i hope to get consistent on it. unlike this blog where i just randomly write, i have to up the ante and perhaps generate an income out of it.
learning how to play the trumpet
when i was about 8, my folks enrolled me in a trumpet learning course. that lasted for less than 4 lessons simply because the place burnt down. since then, my little b flat has been tarnishing. i think it's about time i started working my pipes again.
getting limber
not to say that i'm not... relatively speaking, but i'd want to be able to touch my toes when i'm 80 and still get up without effort whatsoever. how am i going to get there? stretching. also some form of martial art, or maybe even boxing.
so there you are. a short list of things that i want to accomplish and 2006 may just be the year for it.
